"My Chinchilla" originally appeared on Cubs second release "hot dog day" which was a six song clear red vynil EP. It can now be found on their CD "Betti-Cola".
This song features one of the best first lines that you’re likely to hear in a Pop Song!
I first learned about Cub thanks to They Might Be Giants outstanding cover of their song New York City. Once it became clear how awesome they where, I made sure to get everything they had done.
You should do the same.
Cub has been described using words like "Grrrl band" and "Cuddlecore", cute wordplay aside, they are an extremely charming all girl indie rock band featuring the songwriting of Lisa Marr and well worth your time.
In my secret rock fantasies, it’s the mid-nineties and I get to play on stage with Cub, all the while feeling guilty about my crush on Lisa while Robynn and I trade romanantic glances!
Sadly, this may never happen, but at least now you can share my crush while watching this video!
