The Brother Kite is a really great local band that you should totally check out!
Most of the time when you think of "local music", it tends to fall into the dreaded "bar band" category. My love for pop music forbids me from accepting the delivery of any mid-tempo musical contrivance in a denim jacket, so therefore I will often just save myself the effort by not even bothering with it.
Amidst the sea of geographically based crap you can occasionally get lucky and stumble onto something that is actually good. That’s the Brother Kite.
They deliver Pop Songs that combine loud guitars and a big production sound, with albums that work as a solid listening experience, rather than simply acting as the compilation of disjointed songs that most bands offer.
If you can get all of that AND a really cute girl playing bass, then you know it’s a total win!
